I am teaching personal finance course to high school students. At this age they are very interested in business and especially in stock exchange. After explaining them some basic terms, like what are the stocks, dividends, P/E ratio, trust funds and government bonds, we have made a fun activity.
Each team has a 500$ to invest in stock exchange to create their portfolio. They have to thing in which companies do they like and in which companies they will prefer to invest their money? Using the Apple Stock app on their iPhone or MacBook they can check the basic information about the stocks of different companies and compare some basic indicators, like price, P/E ration, cash flow, dividend yields. They have to select several companies that they will want to invest their 500$. Using Numbers each team has to design their investment portfolio and at the end of the session share it with the rest of the class.
One month later the class may review their portfolios to check if the stocks had grown and how much, if dividends were payed, etc.

What a fabulous learning activity, HighTechTeacher! 🙌 Best use of the Stocks app in Education I’ve ever heard of, for sure!
It would be cool to see some examples (or even a demo) of the investment portfolio they create with Numbers. 💡 📈
