The Curious Secretarybird

I couldn't resist joining others in making my bird for World Creativity and Innovation Day! There were so many possibilities for this Design a Bird with Shapes creative task, but ultimately I went with one of the most crazy birds I've ever seen in real life.

The secretarybird.

An image of a secretarybird made from shapes in Keynote

I met one of these guys while exploring Etosha National Park in Namibia and (apart from the terrifying marabou stork we met later on) he was one of the most striking and fascinating birds I've ever seen. He was about 3.5 ft and just chilling on the veldt. Not long after we saw him, the secretarybird was put on the official list of endangered species.

After using shapes to make him in Keynote I added a video behind him to make it look like he was joining us as we followed the zebras using everyone's favourite animation 'motion path'!
