🌏Overview

On July 26, 2026, educators gather in Tokyo for the Apple Education Community Meetup 2026 Summer. We had the privilege of leading a hands-on workshop centered around empowering students through Podcast creation using GarageBand.

💡Innovative Classroom Practices: SEL, Mindful Dialogue & Leadership

We began by sharing two distinct learning practices implemented at our school through our LCP (Leader's Competence Program) curriculum:

・ Dialogue Protocol (“対話の作法”)A practice focusing on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), mindfulness, and community building through deep, active dialogue.

・ The Power of Two: A lesson exploring the dynamic balance between leadership and followership.

In the former lessons, "Everyone Can Create" shared by Apple let me use the method of podcasting as a reflection from this whole lessons, on the other hand, in the latter ones, I intended that I wanted students to deepen their understanding toword this series of lessons through outputting.

🎙️ Student Voices in Action

To bridge theory and reality, we showcased authentic podcast episodes created by our students. By listening to these real student productions, participants observed firsthand how audio creation allows learners to process their thoughts, practice mindful dialogue, and share their unique perspectives with authentic voices. Their works are on "Sound Cloud" in one playlist, and shared with Students as a learning portfolio. This makes them enjoy learning from other student's works and realize how diverse takesaways they've got were.

💻 Hands-on Simulation: Experiencing the Learner’s Journey

Participants didn’t just listen—they stepped directly into the shoes of learners. Using GarageBand, everyone created their own short podcast clips, experiencing the exact cognitive and reflective processes that students go through during audio creation.

The workshop concluded with overwhelming enthusiasm and inspiring feedback from the attending educators:

It was a powerful reminder of how technology, when paired with thoughtful pedagogy, can amplify student voices and redefine classroom learning. Thank you so much for every participant in my workshop.

🌏概要

2026年7月26日、東京にて開催された 「Apple Education Community Meetup 2026 Summer」 にて、ハンズオンワークショップを実施しました。テーマは 「GarageBandを活用したポッドキャスト制作を通じた、生徒の主体的な学びの探究」 です。

💡授業実践：SEL・対話とリーダーシップの育み

はじめに、勤務校の「LCP（Leader's Competence Program）」という授業において取り組んでいる、2つの授業実践をご紹介しました。

• 「対話の作法」：SEL（社会性と情動の学び）やマインドフルネスの要素を取り入れ、対話を通じてコミュニティを醸成する授業。
• 「The Power of Two」：リーダーシップとフォロワーシップについて体系的に深く学ぶ授業。

前者の授業は高校1年生の2学期に全13コマの授業で、その授業の振り返りとして各グループでポッドキャストの中で振り返りを行うという対話的な振り返り手法を取り入れました。後者の授業は、高校2年生の1学期に実施した全9回コマの授業で、こちらでは振り返りではなく学習のアウトプットとして取り入れ、アウトプットを通してインプットの質を高めることを意図して取り入れました。また、彼らの作品は「SoundCloud」に限定公開でアップしプレイリストにして生徒自身に手渡しています。学習がポートフォリオ化されます。

🎙️ 生徒の「声」から聞こえる成長

理論を実践へと繋げるため、実際に生徒たちが制作したポッドキャストをいくつか試聴していただきました。実際の音声作品を聴くことで、ポッドキャスト制作が生徒自身の思考を深め、マインドフルな対話を引き出し、自分自身の「声」で想いを届ける強力な手段になっていることを実感していただきました。

💻擬似体験：学習者の視点に立つハンズオン

後半のハンズオンセクションでは、参加者の皆様にGarageBandを使用したポッドキャスト制作に挑戦していただきました。単なる操作体験にとどまらず、「制作を通じてどのような気づきや思考の変化が生まれるのか」という学習者側のプロセスをリアルに体験していただく貴重な時間となりました。

ワークショップの最後には、参加された教育関係者の皆様から大変温かくポジティブなフィードバックをいただきました。
