Community is the idea of a group of people working together towards a common goal. This can be a place which is safe and everyone is known and valued. We all come from different walks of life and different experiences and communities give us avenues to share and grow.

Being in a room full of people who get it.

A place where all are welcome in a safe environment to grow life long learners in both adults and students.

I love the word unity in community - when people of similar interests unite together to support each other and share ideas.

To me, community means a space or place where everyone is valued, belongs and feels safe.

Community is a togetherness of people through shared experiences. Who become a space of belonging, being and ongoing journey in the world.  

Community is where you feel like you belong and connected. You have shared values and beliefs and work together towards a common goal. Community is based on genuine, authentic relationships.

To me, community is a group of people that seeks a common goal. In an education space, this goal is to nurture our group to grow to be thoughtful and curious learners who will someday be kind and innovative adults.

The Māori kupu of whanaungatanga comes to mind when thinking about this community. Whanaungatanga is made by working alongside each other and growing together as a family. A family of learners.

Sharing and connecting with like minded individuals.

Community is a group in which everyone has a sense of belonging. Together you are working towards a common goal. You support, uplift and encourage your peers. You show Manaakitanga (kindness and respect) towards the members of your group and in return you grow and evolve.

A group of people where everyone feels like they are safe and belong. People feel like they are able to get help when needed and feel supported by those around them. People may come from different areas, places and have different experiences, but they all have something in common connecting them.

Community is about being with like minded people, who will support and encourage you (no matter where you are on your journey). It’s a way to share ideas, resources and a place where you can go for help.

Community means belonging, being supported and finding your tribe. Finding like minded people who raise you up and help you succeed and doing the same for others in your community. Making positive connections!

Being surrounded by like minded people who not only “get it” but when presented with an idea reply with “Yes! And…..” helping to build and improve on the idea

To me, community means a place I feel I belong. It also means a place to connect, share, support others and be inspired.
