Teachers unable to sign in to Apple Account

Hello,

I add this question/issue here because our IT department cannot solve the problem. After initially creating and signing in to their Apple accounts, now several teachers are unable to update apps and software. It prompts them to sign in but then will not accept their information. We have tried a number of troubleshooting solutions including changing phone numbers but nothing is working. To keep the explanation here short, teachers have accounts. They were working initially. Now when prompted to update it says the account has not been used (not true) and then won't accept any of the user's information. I have added pictures with number order. Happy to provide more detail if needed. I suspect there is a really simple answer that I have missed or it is nearly unable to be fixed without starting over or something like that.

Thank you all.

Are you using a Mobile Device Management (MDM) like JAMF or Mosyle to manage the devices and the apps? Just having the user names alone will not push out apps, you need to have an MDM to manage that aspect of the devices.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Apparently, as we are in Indonesia there are licensing agreements that still need to be worked out between Indonesia and Apple, therefore we are using Lightspeed as our device management system. I am not part of the IT department so this is really far from my expertise, but from what I understand we use Lightspeed to manage all of our iPads. Would this be the case for teacher Macbooks as well? We were instructed to sign in using a personal Apple ID at the beginning of the year. Many teachers had to create Apple accounts because they were not previously Apple users. Nearly all teachers were able to do this successfully. Only 2 have this problem. Can't figure out why.

Thanks again for your reponse.

THe one thing that I would check is to make sure those devices are connected to Lightspeed. When we have used Jamf and Mosyle, and the device is having problems, generally I find that the device did not connect properly to the MDM, so it involves erasing the device and trying to connect again.

I wish I knew more about Lightspeed to help you a little better.

Hi Brian,

These are teacher Macbooks so from my understanding do not need to be connected to Lightspeed. In addition, teachers have signed into Apple with personal accounts (suggested by the school). It is perplexing in that no other teachers have had issues, just these two.

Thanks for your reply
