Apple Classroom 101 & 102

Hello everyone,

My name is Chris Garcia, and I’m preparing to facilitate a two-day professional development session with teachers who are being introduced to Apple Classroom.

I have a general direction for the training, but I’m still reflecting on the best way to split the learning across the two days. My current thinking is:

Day 1: Focus on the foundations: creating a class, inviting students, helping students join, viewing screens, organizing students into groups, and using basic classroom management tools such as Lock, Hide, and Mute.

Day 2: Move into instructional application: opening apps and websites, using groups during instruction, sharing resources, reviewing class summaries, using AirDrop, and exploring ways Apple Classroom can support engagement, feedback, and lesson flow.

For those who have facilitated Apple Classroom training before, does this two-day split make sense? Are there specific features, workflows, or teacher pain points you would prioritize earlier in the training?

I would also appreciate any examples of activities, practice tasks, or classroom scenarios that helped teachers move beyond simply viewing screens and toward using Apple Classroom as an instructional support tool.
