Oh I love that idea! I didn't think about it being a powerful tool for poetry! Thanks for the idea, Cheryl.

Rhyming Book
One major skill that kindergarteners work on throughout the year is rhyming. I created this template in Pages for students to use to practice this skill. Each page has a rhyming word with an emoji to match the picture. Under the picture and word, there is a blank white box. This is for the students to write their corresponding rhyming word and draw their own emoji to match that word.
Students had a blast creating their own emojis and writing the words that went along with their pictures. Students could easily take it a step further and record their voice saying the two rhyming words to check their answers.
As an extension, students could create their own rhyming pairs and quiz each other. I have attached the template below.
Enjoy!

This is such a great template--thanks for sharing not only the file, but also the artifact that shows what a student can create within it!
Thank you for the file! I think I'll add some symbols like draw or text so the students are prompted with what to do in the boxes. SF symbols are my biggest friend when creating files for PK/K students!
This is a great activity. I love how you created the box for students to write the word.

Fun idea Andrea! Even older students (and adults) would enjoy this. Great vocabulary builder! Also a good way to generate rhymes for poetry writing.
