Foto + Descrivere

My students in Italian 3 are finishing up their storytelling unit. We just finished reading the book Pinocchio. With this book, students implicitly learned how to use both the Passato Prossimo and Imperfetto. The end of unit assessment is to retell the story of Pinocchio- by pulling detail from the interpretive task.

To review, I created station rotations. Each station was developed to students build upon their summary. One of my stations was a “Photo/Description” station. Students look at the photo and call out all of the vocabulary/characters they see. They then describe the scene of the story or of the chapter.

To incorporate technology into this station, I shared pictures with my students. They saved them to their photos and followed the template. This template allows for students to mark up the photo before adding their voice recording.

Creative use of Mark up - thanks!

Mark up is such a great tool for all levels. It's often a skill that is overlooked so many times.

Great use of Mark Up! I also really appreciate the Audio space in your Pages Journal. Great way to capture students speaking in the language for you to listen to later or for students to listen to later in the year to hear their growth.
