Historical Storysphere

I created this project for my PA History Class but it could be used in many ways!! I would love to hear some of your ideas!!

Students demonstrated learning by identifying historical landmarks within our county. They conducted historical research to learn more about the importance of their site. They also showed emerging technology skills in using panoramic photos to create augmented reality. Finally, they applied audio to give a truly immersive experience to others who viewed their work. Students created QR code links that were placed in the hallways that took students to their immersive 360 experience. Students could scan the codes and explore the local historical sites in virtual reality while hearing about them from an audio recording. The end product of an augmented 360 tour of the historic site created excitement to learn about local history. It took what might have just been a research writing about a historical location and brought it to life with images and audio. Students were excited to complete a relevant and authentic learning experience. I used skills from Everyone Can Create Photo for this lesson. I also integrated ideas I learned from a VR Grad Class I took for my master's program.

Here's an Example!!

As I'm posting this the link isn't currently working.

You could add your 360 or panoramic photo to apple clips and record your audio as well if the storysphere.com website would not work for you.

This is fantastic! It incorporates so many skills. Great for a deep dive into a history topic and would work for other subjects, as you said. Let us know when the link is working.
