Magazine Covers in Keynote
I'm constantly trying to create engaging projects that will help drive my students' curiosity and empower them in their creativity. I recently taught a research unit to my seventh and eighth grade English class students. In addition to learning about credible sources and documenting the research, students were tasked with creating a magazine cover that would embody the essence of the person they spent a couple of weeks researching and learning about.
Using Keynote, students created these magazine covers once the research portion was complete. They were so proud of how these turned out when they finished, and we now have a gallery in our middle school hallway that showcases several prominent icons in the Black community.
What an exciting way to celebrate creativity and the leaders who have paved the way for us and our community.

Wow Tanya - what outstanding magazine covers! Your learners certainly got engaged in the lesson and created some very impressive art! I love this project, combining research with a thoughtful visual expression of what they learned. Super that you displayed their work in a school hall gallery for others to learn. Thanks for sharing!
