Vacation Vlogging in Freeform

Have you thought about using Freeform beyond the classroom, as a way to share things with family and friends? My family has recently experimented with using Freeform as a collaborative space to share photos and videos with each other in a way that allows our own quirky personalities to be enhanced through creativity as we interact with each other. This got me thinking...could Freeform be a safe and secure place for our children to Vlog to their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins without needing to use social media or have an online presence?

This summer I am giving my two children their own Freeform boards on their iPads to Vlog about their vacations and holiday adventures. Each board will provide placeholders for videos they want to create through Clips or iMovie, the ability to add text or drawings, as well as a fun cork board to "pin" photos to share. The best & key part, being able to invite family to collaborate on the board through iCloud, see the content, and give some comments and feedback through their own drawings, audio, and text! A wonderful and safe way to share special moments with those that are not near us.

What a wonderful idea, Lyndsey! I am going to propose this idea to my son who will be away at a three week camp this summer. I'm hopeful that he will have enough time to try this out with us. A great place for photos, videos, text, and even sounds (exported from Voice Memos).

Agree with Donald, Lyndsey. Great idea! Such a creative way to engaged learners during the summer months and keep connected with family! And they’ll be practicing lots of skills as they use Freeform. Thanks for the share!

What a great idea, Lyndsey! I'm going to propose this to my family as well; both my siblings live in different cities, and this would be a fun addition to the family group text :)
