Apple School work iCloud issues

Question:

We are trying to encourage our teachers to use Schoolwork, but are having many issues. The newest issue is that students are attaching an iWorks document (Pages, GarageBand, Keynote etc.) as a Hand-In, but the teacher is unable to open the document.

One teacher in particular created an assignment, the students can see it and submit work but the teacher cannot open the attached files and there is no folder in iCloud>Schoolwork for the teacher to look for the files either. This does not happen on every assignment. It seems to be random.

Here is the error:

""Item 1" cannot be opened.

Make sure your device is connected to the internet and iCloud Drive is enabled, then try again. If the issue continues, contact your school administrator or Apple Support."

Hi there,

Please be sure to get in contact with your Apple Education Systems Engineer so that they can assist with escalating this issue. You can find out who your Apple SE is by calling 1-800-800-2775 and choose option 4 to get connected with your school's Apple sales team.

Best,

Dominique
