My experience has been that the featured image does appear in a social post. I don’t use Twitter much anymore but I’ve certainly had Tweets where the featured image showed once I added the URL to the Community. Do you see your featured image in your post when you are editing like this:

It only works in stories not resources or discussions.

The March 2023 update says featured images now work in all post sites: https://education.apple.com/en/resource/250011028
I just tried a resource with a featured image on Twitter and it worked:

When adding a featured image to a post in the forum - then sharing the link on socials eg Twitter - should the featured image appear in your social post? I’m still seeing the grey box. Is there a trick to this?
