You can create interactive books that feature image galleries, video, audio, and a table of contents using a variety of book templates in Pages. Share your book with others to add to their Apple Books library, where they can keep it as a reference.
Create a new book. Choose File , New and select a template from the Books category. Then click Create. For books that will contain mostly text, choose a portrait template. A landscape template works best for an image-heavy book that requires a fixed layout.
Add an image gallery. Click Media in the toolbar, then choose Image Gallery.
Add photos to the gallery. Click Media Placeholder , then select multiple image files to add them to the gallery. You can also drag photos into the gallery from the desktop.
Export your book. When you’re ready to share your book, choose File , Export to , EPUB.
In the Export dialog, you can add the book title and author name, choose a cover, and more. Then click Next.
Double‑click your EPUB file to open it in Apple Books.
Create a travel guidebook for your school’s hometown. Include pages that document the people, places, and things that define the community.
Make a digital portfolio of your class projects to share with parents and students at the end of the year. Collect and add writing, photos, videos, recordings, and drawings.
For longer books with multiple chapters, you can make it easier for readers to navigate your document by adding a table of contents (TOC). Entries in the TOC are links that allow readers to jump directly to specific chapters and headers.
