The right camera settings can help you compose your frame. In this section, you’ll set up your device before capturing your shots.
Step 1
From the Home Screen, tap Settings.
Step 2
Scroll to Camera and tap it, then tap to turn on Grid.
Step 3
Return to the Home Screen and tap Camera.
Step 4
Choose Video mode.
Step 5
Double-tap the screen to change the view to widescreen (16:9).
Tip
You can keep the view at full screen, but the video will still record in widescreen.
To make these shots look amazing, it’s important to keep the camera absolutely still. Make sure to set up your iPad so that it won’t move.
Step 1
Choose a quiet, well-lit location and find someone to be the subject in your scene.
Step 2
Mount your iPad on a tripod and place it so the lens points at the background you want. This will keep the camera still so you can capture a static shot.
Tip
You can also stabilize your iPad with objects, such as a stack of books.
Step 3
Place your subject entirely in the camera view, in the center of the frame. This is called a full shot.
Tip
Use the grid to help you find the center of the frame.
Step 4
Measure and note the height of your iPad and the distance from your iPad to your subject. These measurements will be useful in a later tutorial.
