Objective: Physics and/or Math students will be able to determine the shape of a kinematic graph based on adjacent kinematic graphs.
I use these resources in my Physics classes to teach Kinematics, but they can also be used in Math, particularly to teach the basics of Calculus: instantaneous slope/derivative, and integrals.
I call these "Stacked Graphs", because they are position v. time, velocity v. time, and acceleration v. time graphs, all stacked vertically, such that the time axes all line up. This helps students to see the correlations between graphs where there are meaningful changes in the graphs (such as parabolic maximums and minimums).
These are Keynote files that I created, but which you can edit for your own purposes. The first one is a set of challenge problems, where the students are provided with one graph, and must determine the shape of the adjacent, blank graphs. I have also included an answer key for this one, should you choose to use it for an assignment.
The second file is simply a blank "stacked graph" kinematic graphing template, where you can create your own kinematic graphs from scratch. This is a screenshot, but the file itself should be attached below.
