Interesting idea! You could even start with a selfie photo, and then add the shapes!

Surreal Portraits using keynote shapes
This was a fun creative art lesson focusing on the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527-1593). First we followed Activity 3 in the Portraits chapter of Everyone Can Create, Photography to create a silhouette portrait. After that we explored some of Giuseppe's art works (see the keynote attached) and discussed his work. The children then used keynote to create their own portrait choosing shapes that presented themselves. We explored a range of skills such as how to change the colour, size, rotation and how to group shapes together. The children loved personalising their portraits and exploring all the different creative tools in keynote.

What a great use of shapes in Keynote! Thanks for sharing!!
Great idea. I can't to make my portrait! Thanks for sharing.
Yes...and you never know what shapes you will find useful. After editing the stock station wagon into the Griswold's 1989 Taurus wagon and roughing up the stock pine tree, I needed a way to create the giant root ball. I actually connected a nerve shape to the brain shape and then just duplicated and rotated them a bunch of times.
So much fun...and such a powerful tool.
Thanks Trudi this was GREAT! I made my own little portrait to make sure I knew how to do it before I introduced it to students. Great way to learn about shapes and so much more!
This is such a great idea Trudi! Thanks so much for sharing! I love how versatile those shapes are in keynote! Perfect portrait project too for back to school in 2023!
