Surreal Portraits using keynote shapes
This was a fun creative art lesson focusing on the Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo (1527-1593). First we followed Activity 3 in the Portraits chapter of Everyone Can Create, Photography to create a silhouette portrait. After that we explored some of Giuseppe's art works (see the keynote attached) and discussed his work. The children then used keynote to create their own portrait choosing shapes that presented themselves. We explored a range of skills such as how to change the colour, size, rotation and how to group shapes together. The children loved personalising their portraits and exploring all the different creative tools in keynote.
