Student Goal Setting

Goal Setting is always a key feature in my classroom early on in the year, term or semester. Students take ownership in creating an overall personal goal and then individual goals in Writing, Reading and Mathematics. This is a working online document where students add their work samples as they tackle their set goals. This helps them to take more responsibility for progress towards their goal. This will mean that their goals are individual to them and different to the rest of the class.

I use this when in discussions with parents in interviews so they can “see” exactly what their child is working towards and how they can assist their child in attaining their selected goals.
