South America Travel Plan

6th Grade Social Studies students used this template to create a travel plan for a country of choice in South America. (This could be done with any area). Students were asked to think like a travel guide to help others learn more about their country. Students identified three geographic locations and explained their importance as well as two points of interest. Using the media place holders, they added images for each item. On the fourth slide, students then created their travel plan showing the locations of the different geographic areas. Students could use animation, drawings, etc. to show their route. Also, a compass rose and legend was required for their map.

Aligns with Iowa Common Core Standard:

SS.6.16 -Utilize and construct geographic representations.
