K-2 Communities Activity

In my blended role, I have the distinct privilege of creating activities for both my middle school students and for other grades. This week, I pushed into kindergarten with an activity to help them culminate their social studies unit on communities.

Students used shapes, drawings, and audio to share what they've learned about communities. While I did this with kindergarten, it could be used with other early grades as well. I've shared both pictures of our students completing this activity as well as the file for you to use, share, or draw inspiration from.

Happy creating!

Great way for early learners to understand community - and grow their creativity. I like the three aspects of Community that you have them explore with their art - Home, School, Neighborhood. Yes, this activity certainly would work well for older learners also - Thanks Tanya!

This is wonderful! I am working with a school who will absolutely love this, so can't wait to direct them to this post 🙌🏻 Thanks for sharing.
