Create a Striking About Me Word Art Project Using Pages

I have done this project a number of times over the years and every time people see it they seem to like it, so I thought why not share it to a wider audience!  

The original purpose to this project was to capture the essence of who the student is. The words in their face help define who they are while the black and white image captures a unique likeness. I really wanted the students to be aware of what makes them who they are and be proud of that.

This makes a great 'Back to School' activity as you learn about the students and once printed off and mounted together it makes an impressive wall display.

You use Pages, Clips and Photos, I have attached a tutorial video on how I did it. I hope it is useful and feel free to put your own flavour to it.

Thank you for sharing this activity which triples as a get to know you activity, an opportunity for artistic expression, and a technology skill-building exercise. Isn't it amazing how powerful and multifaceted iPad is, especially in education? I will be using this in future semesters as our first-day activity. It's important to implement these types of activities at all levels and my college students will love it.

Also, the walkthrough was well-crafted and easy to follow. I just may create one of these for myself this weekend.

Thanks for this Jono. Great thank you and personalised leaving gifts created and crafted with care and attention that took forever to make (That's not true... it took mere minutes but that would be rude to say surely)

We customised by adding the school uniform fabric into the background.
