Setting for Kindergarten

After reading a fall story, we had students use the template to create a setting using shapes and drawings. We added audio directions so students could listen again if needed. Students should have been able to recognize the time and place of the story. Ours was the season of fall, and it took place on a farm and apple orchard.

Having the background template was a helpful scaffolding tool. It allowed students to get their thinking started. Using audio directions allowed them to listen to their teacher’s voice repeatedly if needed. Students needed some support, as this was their first exposure to keynote. We will continue to use these practices throughout the year in whole group, as well as, small group instruction. #soar

I love that the students can listen to the teacher's instructions as often as needed!
