Getting to know my Apple Pencil

For the first time this year we will have an entire year group with Apple Pencils.

While many of us on the digital team consider this an exciting development, we are only too aware that not everyone views this step the same way.

Some of our teachers have not used Apple pencils themselves and this cohort is full of learners who are seven, turning eight - and have never used Apple pencils either.

If we want this to be successful we need to put support in place for all concerned and not just expect that everyone will cope.

One way we can help with this is to consider some specific lessons on how to care for our Apple pencil and explore what it can actually do.

I’ve created a Pages workbook focused on just this. We’ll start the year working on this and practising our Apple pencil skills as we do so.

Feel free to use the workbook if it would be helpful for your learners too.

Thanks for sharing this very helpful guide. The workbook makes it easy to follow along and practice with Apple Pencil.

What a wonderful idea! I have used Apple Pencil with my students for the past several years and I always have a few students who have never used one before. This workbook would be a great resource for getting them started!
