Solar Eclipse Reflection - Keynote

Our district is in the zone of totality for the April 8, 2024 solar eclipse. Students have been learning about it in class. I created a resource for students to write and create images to show what they witnessed. The template is basic so students and teachers can add to it.

Nice work, Amanda! I’m a big fan of using Keynote to create scaffolded resources for students with prompt questions.

I wonder if an interesting extension could be for students to create a series of slides using simple shapes (circles, moon shape, etc.) to illustrate the eclipse. Or, in time, maybe even animate this using Keynote’s animation features!

So impactful for students to collect, record, discuss and learn during a real time event. You are fortunate to be in the Zone.

Eoin mentioned creating an animation. Here is one in the Community posted by Kelsey Ord: Total Solar Eclipse Animation in Keynote

Thanks for sharing! I tinkered around and made a gif based on yesterday’s time lapse.
