To celebrate the launch of the Everyone Can Create resource, 'Create lessons that pop’, we’re excited to announce a complimentary lesson idea designed to help unleash your creativity while building connections with fellow educators in the Forum.

Creative activity: Make your passions pop! 🫧

This creative activity is about expressing your passions through pop art and showcasing the things that bring you joy and fulfillment. 🤩

It's also a fun lesson idea to empower your students to express their identity and celebrate their unique creativity with a big splash of color. 🎨

What you’ll need: An iPad and Apple Pencil or a Logitech Crayon. Finger painting is welcome, too, and can provide a fun spin to the activity.

Participants: You can do this challenge independently or by conspiring creatively with a partner.

Time: 30 minutes

Resource: Create Pop Art project

Extras: Try showcasing your passion with props and visual aids for added fun.

Instructions:

  1. Take a moment to reflect on the things that ignite your passion in life. To help you brainstorm, create a mind map in the Notes app or Freeform. Afterward, review your ideas carefully to determine which would be the most suitable for a visual representation.
  2. Using the Photograph A Person tutorial steps in the Create Pop Art project as a guide, determine what kind of image you want to capture. Will it be a selfie, an object that represents your passion, or will you ask a friend to take a photo of you in a specific setting?
  3. Once you’ve captured your image, follow the 'Create Pop Art’ project to transform your image into colorful and creative pop art.
  4. Share your creativity in the Apple Education Community Forum using the tags: everyone can create, World Creativity and Innovation Day, and creativity.

We’re excited to see how your creativity will ‘pop’ across the community! 🤩

Thanks for this fun and creative activity for World Creativity and Innovation Day. I’ve been enjoying all the posted pop art. This lesson is also a great one for getting to know your learners, building class collaboration and climate and social emotional learning. I love the creativity it inspires!

I am obsessed with this challenge. I like how you added color to just your face, something I had not considered. Also how you included all your devices(passions).
