Using Animation to teach keyboard and guitar.

When I was teaching Music, I made a workbook that uses animation to teach students how to play simple songs on the piano/keyboard or guitar.

Some of the boys were able to read the music or tab, but others struggled, so this was a great way to give them some independence to learn at their own speed.

It was quite a bit of fun to make too. I used Keynote for the animation, Garageband for the recording and Pages for the workbook.

Great idea - and nicely done. Very helpful, I’m sure for the learners. Thanks for the share!

I’ve been a musician for 43 years, and I love the explanations. I always had a hard time in the beginning, reading the notation on the page, then trying to figure out where it was on the piano or guitar. I love the visual approach.

These are great animations and a nice way to inspire young (or older) people to start making music. These activities could be the gateway that opens doors for them to seek further instruction. I remember the pride I felt when I learned my first song! 🎵🎺 Nice work!
