Why Clips is Perfect for Your Classroom

Clips isn’t just another video app—it’s a gateway to endless creative possibilities. With its intuitive features, students can create stunning videos that showcase their learning in dynamic ways. Here’s why Clips should be your next go-to tool:

1. Live Titles: Bringing Words to Life

Clips offers a feature called Live Titles, which lets students create animated captions simply by speaking. Imagine the power this brings to language arts classes—students can narrate their stories, reports, or even poetry, and watch their words appear on-screen in real time. This is a game-changer for students who may struggle with writing or typing, as it allows them to focus on their ideas and voice. This is also great for early learners, as they can see the words you're saying in realtime through the video, and make connections for spelling and reading. It's also amazing for students who are learning a language to both see and hear the words being spoken. So powerful!

2. Stickers, Labels, and Filters: Add Some Flair!

Let’s face it—students love adding their personal touch to everything. With Clips, they can choose from a variety of colorful stickers, labels, and filters to make their videos truly their own. History projects can come alive with themed stickers, science videos can pop with labels identifying key concepts, and everything from math to music can be made more engaging with the right filter. The possibilities for personalization are endless!

3. Royalty-Free Music: Set the Mood, and Share Away!

What’s a great video without a soundtrack? Clips comes with a library of royalty-free music that automatically adjusts to the length of the video, ensuring a perfect fit every time. Whether your students are creating a historical documentary, a science experiment demonstration, or an art project showcase, they can find the perfect tune to set the mood and enhance the storytelling experience. Better yet, because it is all royalty-free music, it won't be blocked by video platforms like YouTube, or social media channels like Facebook.

4. Animated Posters: Start with a Bang

Students can kick off their videos with animated posters that grab attention right from the start. These customizable posters are perfect for introducing topics, highlighting key points, or just adding a bit of pizzazz to any project. Imagine starting a social studies video with a vintage-inspired poster or a math tutorial with a futuristic animation—the possibilities are endless!

5. Guide them with a Template

Clips offers the ability to export a Clips Package (this exports the project, rather than a finished movie) which enables teachers to create a template to guide students along the way! Maybe its the start of the year, and you want students to introduce themselves. You could provide a Clips template with posters guiding them with a few things to share, and let the students run wild with adding their own photos, videos, stickers and more to showcase their personality with their class! Or check out this template for creating a Student Newscast using Clips!

Classroom Uses Across Subjects

Clips isn’t just for one type of lesson—it’s a versatile tool that can be integrated into any subject area. Here’s how you can use Clips to enhance learning across the curriculum:

Language Arts: Have students create book trailers, character interviews, or poetry performances using Live Titles and animated posters. The visual and audio elements will bring their writing to life and make their work more impactful.

Science: Document experiments, create how-to guides, or explain scientific concepts using stickers and labels to highlight key information. The addition of music can make even the most complex topics more accessible and fun.

History: Students can create mini-documentaries, reenact historical events, or present research projects with a blend of stickers, posters, and filters to set the scene. The ability to add music that fits the era or theme adds another layer of depth to their projects.

Math: Demonstrate problem-solving processes, create tutorials, or explore real-world math applications with step-by-step visuals enhanced by labels and filters. Music can make even the most challenging problems more engaging.

Art and Music: Showcase student artwork, create music videos, or explore the connections between visual and performing arts with Clips’ creative features. The ability to layer stickers, labels, and music over student work makes it an ideal platform for creative expression.

Thank you for creating this resource! Clips is a wonderful tool for creating videos, and the content-specific examples are very helpful. In foreign language classes, students can use live titles to practice their pronunciation, fluency, and overall speaking skills. The better they pronounce and speak the language, the more accurate their live titles will be.
