Valuing Teachers’ Voices on World Teachers’ Day - a Keynote Postcard

What do you have to say on World Teachers' Day?

“Valuing Teacher voices: Towards a new social contract for education”

is the theme for the 2024 World Teachers' Day, on October 5

Create a Personalized Postcard, by using the template from the new Creative Activities for Students in the Apple Education Community Learning Center. Then send it to teachers on World Teachers’ Day, reminding them to share their voices!

For my digital postcard I started with the Personalized Postcard template, tapped the shape icon in the upper menu and search “World”. Once a Shape is added to a slide you can adjust the size and also change the color and opacity.

Then I added text to the second slide and a primary source photo of a teacher from the Library of Congress. I removed the background of the image.

I added a transition between slides, The one I used for the gif above was Object Revolve.

If you want to make it a “talking card” you could record your voice.

You can also turn your Keynote card into an animated gif and mail. Or you could set up the iPad in a prominent place in the faculty room at your school or educational office as a Kiosk.

So let's express ourselves and encourage the voices of our colleagues on World Teachers’ Day!

The image above of teacher and students is a primary source from the Library of Congress (1957). You'll find the poster at UNESCO

I love this Cheryl, you show how easy it is to take one of these new projects and use it in a relevant context! And show how simple it is to use the software to take creativity and expression further. Thanks for sharing, I hope you got a postcard too?
