Create your own Route in Maps for Halloween Trick or Treating spots in your Neighbourhood on iPad

Do you know where all the the great houses and streets are for Trick or Treating in your neighbourhood over Halloween? You can use "Create a Custom Route" in Maps to showcase, or highlight easily your Trick or Treating route, or to find the best Spooktacular Decorations.

On either your iPad or iPhone in iOS18 or iPadOS 18, Open Maps. Find the location you are looking for. Tap and hold on a street on the map to drop a red location pin as the start of the route. Tap on the 3 dots or more and select create my own route.

Now tap and hold and drop a pin to add the next location on the route, the route will be automatically created with a blue line. Tap and hold to drop another pin and repeat until the route is completed.

You have 3 options to Create Your Custom Route.

Close Loop - meaning your Route will go around in a circle or loop.

Reverse - change the direction you start and end in

Out and Back - this means you you walk to the route from start to finish and then reverse the journey from the end back to the start again.

Maps will show you the distance, time it will take for you to walk the route and any elevation gain or drop in the terrain.

Save your route, and wait for it to process and save. You can even download and use your Map to use offline. Now you can find all the best places to trick or treat in your neighbourhood.

Use our Custom Map Route for Renwick St, Drummoyne, Sydney to really see some amazing scary and Spooktacular Halloween Decorations!

Such fun instructions for creating a wonderful Halloween night Maps experience! Students will love staking out the best houses for treats and decorations. Almost as good as the treats themselves!
