Letter Sound Practice

This is a great way to incorporate some hands-on learning and make the learning last!

I am working with a small group of students on letter sounds and writing letters (intervention but could be used with whole class for younger students!). Each student made a Freeform board and uploaded a picture of writing paper. We locked the writing paper picture and then wrote one of the letters we were working with a few times onto the writing paper picture using drawing tools. Then, we brainstormed words that started with that sound (/s/ snake, sandwich, sun, sock). The students used Play Doh to build one of those objects. Then, they took a picture of their Play Doh creation right in Freeform and added the picture to the letter. Now they have a visual of the letter and something that starts with that sound! Picture attached to show a sample.

What a fantastic idea for learning letters! I love the Freeform, Play Doh connection. Innovative way to integrate technology while learning letters in a very hands on way!
