Bringing History to Life: Student-Created Egypt Quiz Games using Keynote

As a teacher with over 30 years of experience, I'm always looking for new and engaging ways to help my students learn. Technology has been an incredible tool for transforming my teaching approach.

Recently, I introduced my students to app prototyping using Keynote. So, when we were studying ancient Egypt, I thought it would be exciting to challenge them to create a quiz game on Egyptian history. I gave them some guidelines on what to include but left plenty of room for creativity. I intentionally skipped creating a detailed rubric because I wanted their ideas to flow naturally and develop organically.

Below, I’ve attached a few samples of their work. This is a fun and accessible project, and if you'd like to try it yourself, remember to click "Play" to experience the full interactive features!

I have included a YouTube link if you are new to App Prototyping using Keynote created by Matthew Pullen.

This is a fun project that could easily be incorporated into any subject area.

Fun game app prototype Brian. I didn’t do too badly on Game 1 but on Egypt trivia2 , I need to “Listen more in class”. 🤭. Love the Dynamic Backgrounds! Tell your students “nice job”!
