SwiftTrailblazers: Students Code Black Tech History

Transform Black History Month into an engaging coding experience! Using Swift Playgrounds' "All About Me" template, students create interactive app prototypes highlighting African American technology pioneers. Students research their chosen trailblazer, then customize the template to tell that innovator's story through code. This project seamlessly blends Swift coding practice with cultural awareness and digital storytelling.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

  • Research and analyze contributions of African American technology pioneers
  • Develop basic Swift coding skills through template customization
  • Create an interactive biographical app prototype
  • Practice digital storytelling and app design principles

Standards Alignment
