Many of our teachers in upper elementary do units on explorers for social studies. Rather than doing a traditional flip book or research paragraph, they asked me to develop a choice board that they could use for students to show what they know about the explorers they were researching.
Attached is the choice board that I put together for teachers to use for their explorer unit. When these were rolled out, my partner and I were a part of rolling out the project and working alongside students and teachers to support them. Students were definitely engaged and excited about having choice and opportunity in creating something fun and meaningful to them.
