Enhancing National Poetry Month with Multimedia on iPad

April is National Poetry Month and it is the perfect opportunity to leverage iPad technology. Elevate your poetry lessons by blending words with audio and media using the ideas below:

🎙️Leverage audio in GarageBand with these lesson ideas from the Apple Education Forum:

  • Create an acrostic, tautogram, book spine, or soundscape poem using this Live Loops Poetry project.
  • Author poetry that incorporates sound effects while building fluency. Explore the idea further in The Prosody Podcast.

🎨 Create Poetry Pop Art in Keynote using the mentor text, The Best Part of Me. This activity uses photo and drawing paired with poetry to create a unique and personalized piece that highlights the individuality of students.

📝 Try out one of the Apple Education's Creative Activities for Students and Make Shape Poetry in Pages. Pro tip: Download the provided template and AirDrop it to students using Apple Classroom.

Most importantly, have fun creating! How will you leverage technology and blend words with multimedia?
