Context
As historians, we often rely on artefacts as sources to tell us about the past. To add a more imaginative twist to this approach we can challenge students to take a ‘first object’ voice and imagine how and why the object was created, and even why they were found where they were excavated.
Preparation and Flow
1. To prepare for this, the teacher would need a collection of images of artefacts he/she wish the students to explore.
2. Students would need to do some research of the objects to gain better contextual knowledge of them.
3. The series of images may be uploaded into Clips and shared with students.
4. Students are to imagine that they are the object and how they ended up where they were found. They may even share what the artefacts had seen during its time. This can be done in a form of video recording using Clips to challenged students’ creativity.
Possible Extension
We can apply this onto many subjects including languages, literature, science, drama etc.

Very clever idea - artifacts talking! Yes, this would give students the opportunity to do some good research as well as creative production. Thanks for the share, Vivien!
