The Tiny House Project

This project empowers students to explore the complex issue of homelessness in Western Australia through the lens of digital technologies.

By designing and prototyping tiny houses using 3D modelling and laser cutting, students engage in meaningful, real-world problem-solving.

The unit fosters empathy and encourages active citizenship, while developing essential skills in computational thinking (including decomposition and abstraction), data modelling, user interface and experience design, and collaborative project planning.

Through this hands-on, socially conscious approach, students learn to design digital solutions that make a tangible impact in their communities.

This project is supported by Pages to deliver the unit as a workbook in which students are prompted to use a combination of apps and devices to optimise the power of Apple technologies.
