iPad Quick Start Guide for Teachers - updated (GERMAN)

Hi fellow Apple Educators!

I'm excited to share a resource I've developed for teachers working with 1:1 iPad classrooms, particularly those just getting started or looking to deepen their pedagogical approach to technology integration. I originally created this resource when we were starting out on our 1:1 journey, to help my fellow teachers know how to start.

What is it? "Starthilfe für die Digitale Klasse mit iPads" (Quick Start Guide for Digital Classrooms with iPads) is a 20-page practical guide designed to help educators move beyond basic app usage toward transformative learning with iPads.

What makes it different? Rather than just listing apps, this guide connects technology use to proven pedagogical frameworks:

  • SAMR Model – helping teachers understand the difference between substitution and true transformation
  • 4Cs/21st Century Skills – integrating Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication & Collaboration
  • Subject-specific examples across 12+ curriculum areas (Math, Languages, Sciences, Arts, Music, Design, and more)

Who is it for?

  • Teachers new to 1:1 iPad classrooms
  • Educators wanting to elevate their technology integration from basic to transformative
  • Anyone looking for concrete, curriculum-connected examples with pedagogical rationale

What's inside?

  • Concrete lesson ideas with specific apps
  • SAMR level classification (so you can see why an activity is transformative)
  • 4Cs integration examples
  • New page on AI tools

License & Language

  • Available under CC BY license (free to share and adapt with attribution)
  • Currently in German (planning English version based on interest)

I'd love to hear your feedback! If you'd like to have it in English, let me know.

Wow what a comprehensive guide those new to using iPads. You have framed the technology around the learning effectively using the SAMR model and my favourite, the 4Cs. Thank you for creating and sharing!
