This year, we designed an intentional, quarterly professional learning structure focused on sustained growth rather than one-time professional development events. In partnership with our Instructional Coaches and Instructional Technology Facilitator, we organized our learning around four high-yield instructional priorities: Engagement, Formative Assessment, Critical Thinking, and Retrieval Practices.
Each quarter follows a consistent cycle. We launch the focus through Trojan Takeout, where staff engage with research-based strategies and see clear, practical classroom applications. We then conduct Learning Walks to observe the strategy in action across classrooms, normalizing peer observation and collective learning. The following afternoon, teachers participate in a Learning Lab to reflect on what was observed and intentionally plan for implementation in upcoming lessons. Finally, teachers can enter a personalized Coaching Cycle, setting individual goals and receiving targeted, one-on-one support.
This aligned structure ensures professional learning is embedded, collaborative, and sustained over time. By intentionally connecting learning, observation, reflection, and coaching, we are building instructional consistency while empowering teacher ownership and growth.

I love how this structure moves beyond one-time PD and creates a true cycle of learning. The alignment between Trojan Takeout, Learning Walks, Learning Lab, and Coaching makes growth feel continuous. I'm excited to be a part of this with you and to see how this continues to impact classroom practice and student learning.
