Engage : Set Induction (7 Minutes)
- The teacher displays a 3D image of a human tooth using Reality Composer.
- The teacher asks pupils to touch their own teeth and conducts a question-and-answer session.
Teacher: “Are all your teeth the same shape?”
Pupils: “No, they are not.”
Teacher: “Why are some teeth sharp while others are flat?”

- Pupils are divided into small groups of four.
- Each group is provided with one iPad.
- Pupils use the iPad to explore diagrams showing the cross-section of a tooth and the different types of teeth.
- Each group discusses and identifies:
- The names of the three types of teeth found in the human mouth.

Explain : Step 2 – 15 Minutes
The teacher explains the types of teeth and their specific functions:
- Incisors – Used for cutting food.
- Canines – Used for tearing food.
- Molars – Used for grinding food.
The teacher emphasises that properly aligned teeth also help humans speak clearly.

Pupils identify the five main parts that make up a tooth based on its cross-section.
