Creating & Sharing Our Zone

Second-grade students used creative skills on iPads with Tayasui SketchesSchool their Zone of Regulation! Instead of having students participate in a discussion about their current zone during the morning meeting, students submitted their zone through an online form with any information they wanted to share with me. Then, students were given time to draw in SketchesSchool using the primary color of their chosen zone-red, yellow, green, or blue. When the student drawings were complete, volunteers shared their zone and explained how their artistic creation relates to it. The sharing time prompted awesome collaboration with students sharing strategies on how they manage their feelings and learning to show empathy for their peers. Not only did students get the opportunity to comfortably create, but the SketchesSchool tools and iPad features made the drawing activity accessible to everyone!
