Literacy, STEM, and Keynote’s Live Video

After reading Mr. Ferris and His Wheel, a third grade teacher had her students use STEM to create their own Ferris wheel. Then, they wrote a persuasive letter to “judges” explaining why their ride should be brought to the World’s Fair. We integrated technology by using Keynote’s Live Video to bring the students and their creations to the fair. One student read their persuasive letter while their partner put the Ferris wheel in motion. It was so much fun! And I loved the balance of literacy, hands-on creation, and technology.

The template background was created with Magic Media. I can’t wait to try a project like this again and I love that AI can generate images for different backgrounds we may need.

Thanks so much for adding the video of student work on your creative assignment to the post! Helps to see a project from the student viewpoint. Love the integration of multiple disciplines in this activity. Thanks for the post!
