Personalise your Desktop (with the help of Keynote and Freeform)

I don't know about you, but I like to make things look 'pretty' and organised and if you want to personalise your desktop the possibilities are endless.

The first thing you need to do is create a background in Keynote using shapes and images that you like. Then take a screenshot of your background and upload it as a new wallpaper in settings (you may have to fiddle with the screen shot a bit, to get it the right size to match your screen). Once you have done that, you can go into Freeform and create folders (I used the book shapes), however you can use any shape or image you wish. To change the look of your folder on desktop, go to "get info" and copy and paste your image from freeform onto the folder icon. Finally, you can even add widgets to fit into your images.

Have fun creating!

This is great! We will try this next year in our classroom as a way for students to organize their Macs.

Thank you for sharing! If it wasn't for 'stacks', I am not sure what I would do! This looks fantastic.

Really pretty. I can see a lot of teachers using it for the upcoming school year. 👏
