The Evolution of Birds

My favourite bit of advice to give to students when they’re designing something is to continually tinker and alter their designs. Their first attempt is almost never their favourite in the end.

When designing a bird with shapes for World Creativity and Innovation Day, I took this to heart.

My first attempt was a simple duck like bird.

Next I played with creating an animated GIF.

I played with the wing, tail and crest shapes to then make a parrot.

Then I tried for a Superb Wren, and some sort of Kingfisher, replete with fish.

Happy WCID, everyone.

Stop it, Eric! I am not sure if I can say one is better than the other, but isn't it amazing how many iterations you can create and each of the visually appealing in their own right? Lots of creativity on display here. Well done!
