We’re excited to share that Apple School Manager now provides AppleCare coverage data directly within the device information view. This update provides IT administrators with better visibility into warranty and support coverage across their entire fleet of Apple devices.
Administrators can view coverage start and end dates for each device by navigating to the Devices section and selecting a specific unit. AppleCare coverage information appears right alongside other key device details, including serial number, model, and assignment status. For more information, see the Apple School Manager User Guide.
Also Available via API
The same AppleCare coverage data is also available through the Apple School Manager (and Apple Business Manager) API. Developers and IT teams can now programmatically access coverage attributes, including coverage start date, end date, and coverage type. This enables organizations to integrate AppleCare information into custom reporting tools, asset management systems, and automated workflows. For technical details, see the AppleCare Coverage Attributes documentation.
Why it Matters
Access to AppleCare coverage data helps administrators make informed decisions about device lifecycle management. IT teams can identify devices nearing the end of coverage and plan renewals or replacements accordingly. This enhancement also supports budget planning by providing clear timelines for support costs, and helps ensure that devices receive timely service and support, minimizing disruption for students and staff.
We appreciate the continuous feedback from our customers, which helps Apple evolve and improve. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance Apple services for your organization.
