Reading Strategies Resources

Hello! I am a Reading Specialist, and I am looking for any great resources that are out there to help my struggling readers. I am fairly new to using Apple Tools, so any and all suggestions are welcome! I am making it a goal for next year to make my resources more interactive, so I wanted to get a head start here before the end of the school year!

Thank you!

Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for posting. That’s a wonderful goal! I don’t teach reading but I tapped the search icon in the upper right, next to profile, and searched for “Reading”. There are a number of posts that might be helpful. If you scroll you’ll see they are categorized by location (Learning Center, Stories, Resources). Hope some of those help.

You mention that you're fairly new to Apple tools, so I'll mention exploring the accessibility options. I sometimes find that students aren't aware of some of the supports available, text to speech, safari reader and more. https://www.apple.com/accessibility/cognitive/

I'll echo Cheryl that the Search feature in the Forum yields lots of great resources to support reading instruction! Here are a few posts to get you started:

Improve Reading Fluency for All Learners

Guided Reading Digital Notebook

Vocabulary Words: read-listen-write-record

Multimodal Reading Responses using a Pages Digital Journal

Hear Me Grow: Fluency Portfolio

I know you mentioned being new to Apple tools. Many of these posts contain downloadable templates that you can then edit to fit your own needs. This can take out some of the stress of building graphic organizers or digital notebooks from scratch on your own.

Hope this is helpful!
