How we are preparing our students for the future? (Group 4)

We use Inquiry Based Learning Pedagogy with technology to teach students the skills they will need for the future. Examples of this are found through student analysis of their own research and work in Inquiry Based Learning activities. First we assist in formulating questions that direct student investigation but this then leads to students directing their focus when investigating a topic. Throughout these investigations it gives us organic opportunities to teach analytical thinking of the information they are discovering, creative thinking in how they are going to share what they have learned.

Another focus of these learning opportunities is teaching and modelling the core skills of resilience, flexibility and agility in their learning. A large focus has been on content in more recent years but we are shifting towards building self-efficacy and confidence in our student’s learning. This allows students to authentically develop these skills with feedback and support in context with their learning.
