Switching From Smartboard to Apple TV

Hi All!

I am wondering if anyone has been through switching from fully interactive Smartboards to Apple TV & TV setup. If so- how would or have you gone through that process of working with staff to calm nerves. My goal is to get "staycationers OR ones who stick to the flag pole" out of that. This goal is brought by an all 1-1 iPad based learning- except our k-5 do not- have an apple ID. We will not have the change until towards winter/spring. I am planning on creating an "Apple TV playground" for teachers to have an opportunity to get used to changes. I would really love to hear any and every sort of ideas for attendance, switching subjects, or all around the reasons your love using Apple TV as your median of demonstration.

Our district is a Apple district with 1:1 ipads and AppleTVs (small box connected to projector, not actual TV). One thing we highlighted with the swap was the ability for teachers to teach from anywhere in the room as well as be able to mirror their screens in any room with an AppleTV. The other big bonus was the opportunity for students to share their screens with the class. I think your tech playground on this will help and hopefully put staycationers at ease when they see how simple it is.

Any change is tough. We are leading our teachers through this process too. Here's a resource I've been using to share the change as a positive one for learning and teaching. 😊
