Apple TVs in the Classroom

Hello everyone! I work at an ADS which has 1:1 iPad:Student, 2:1 laptop/iPad:Teacher, and Apple TVs in each classroom.

I’m curious to know: if your school uses Apple TVs in your classrooms - are they hooked up to a normal TV screen/monitor or is it hooked up to an interactive/touch screen monitor (like a smart board).

Overall, I’d love to hear experiences, thoughts, uses, etc.

We have both. Every classroom has an AppleTV. As projectors are going out, they are being replaced with TVs. But if a projector still works, then that is what the AppleTV is hooked up to.

We have TVs that are connected to 70 inch televisions in each learning space. as our old projectors and interactive boards aged out this was the most cost effective option. We are 1:1 iPads with students and 2:1 iPads and MacBook Airs with teachers.

We have a mix of projectors and TVs but all hooked up to Apple TVs. We are a BYOD iPad school with 1:1 iPads in Year 3-6 and 2:1 in all K-2 classrooms (although most classrooms have a better ration than that).

We are starting to phase out Apple TVs from our interactive TVs. We have found better use of attaching a Mac Mini to the interactive board to make the board an interactive Mac. The Mac Mini also allows us to screen share from other devices as well.
