Best way to implement AppleTV for education

Hello all! I work in a school system as a computer curriculum specialist and had a question for everyone. I'm running a training and a question came up with how to best utilize AppleTVs in the classroom. So, my question is, what are some of the best ways to use an appleTV in the classroom for something other than airplay? Thank you all!

I upload photos that I’ve taken around our district to iCloud via the Photos app and then share them to the Apple TV that is in the district office lobby. That way when parents and visitors come to the district office they get a look at what is going on at the campuses.

How this might apply to the classroom? Teacher may take photos of work or projects that learners are working on in class. Students will be proud to see themselves featured on the Apple TV in the classroom as they enter each day. Also good for announcements or classroom reminders as students come into the room. We upload screen shots of Keynote slides with necessary announcements to Photos that scroll on the Apple TV in the District Lobby. The same could be done in the classroom. None of this goes out to the public web.

Thanks for the reply. I have some schools that stream to their appleTV for their announcements but never really thought of this application for the classroom.

Screen mirroring is a powerful tool. One recommendation I would have is to combine the screen sharing with the use of apple classroom. My teachers use that to pick and display the student ipad screens for presentations, showing work, etc. It is also a good way to enhance classroom management by displaying all their thumbnails on the screen to discourage them from getting off tasks, because they know that they are being watched.

I have an AppleTV app called Big Red Clock, which serves as a clock with a timer. I use it to manage my students’ time. I tell them they have 20 minutes to work on something and set up the timer to help them stay focused.
