Hi Apple Education Community! This week's WWDC 2026 keynote brought some exciting announcements for educators and students. Here are the highlights:
Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence runs on-device and in Private Cloud Compute, meaning your data is never stored or shared with anyone.
- Bring AI into your classroom with confidence — privacy is protected by design.
- A real opportunity to model responsible, future-ready AI use with your students.
Siri AI
Siri AI is an entirely new version of Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence. A more capable conversational assistant with personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and onscreen awareness.
- Adjustable voice pace and improved dictation accuracy make Siri a stronger accessibility tool for diverse learners.
- Visual Intelligence in Camera opens up incredible possibilities: photograph a historical document, a science specimen, or real-world text and ask Siri about it instantly; primary sources and the physical world become interactive learning opportunities.
- Educators can draft lesson plans, rubrics, and parent communications, just describe it to Siri.
Safari + Shortcuts
Safari automatically organizes tabs by topic and monitors pages for updates. Shortcuts lets anyone automate tasks by simply describing them.
- Tab organization reduces cognitive load and models good research habits for students.
- Describe a Shortcut is perfect for the classroom allowing students to build their own study schedules, homework reminders, or file organization workflows, just by describing them.
Image Playground and Photos
Generate photorealistic images from a simple description, and edit your own photos with powerful new AI tools, all with built-in AI transparency.
- Image Playground is a powerful tool for visual storytelling, creative writing, history projects, and science illustrations.
- Photo editing tools support student creativity in digital arts, journalism, and documentation projects.
